Favorite Places to Photograph

I think most photographers have their favorite and not so favorite places to photograph. Last year I shot a wedding at the historic Monumental Church in downtown Richmond. On my first visit, as I entered through the large wooden doors, I made a promise to myself to come back again to photograph this amazing structure.  I have always been a huge fan of photographing using natural light and this old historic church fed my passion.  I fell in love with the peeling plaster, wooden floor boards, winding staircase and two huge semi-circle windows.  My model, Casey Brynildsen, whose wedding took place on April 20, 2013, was a perfect fit for this beautiful location.  Here are some of the bridal portraits we shot that day.

Picture Perfect

On October 13, 2012, photographer, Matt Cowan, and I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding on Gwynn's Island overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. It was a picture perfect location, a picture perfect day and if that wasn't enough, the couple, Jennifer and Chad Ligon were equally as picture perfect. Here are some of the images we shot that day.

Introducing our new Photo Spoof

The Photo Booth with a Twist!

Every wedding or event I have photographed with some kind of photo booth has always been a huge success. A guaranteed hit with the guests. With the help of several adult beverages and some fun props, the guests love to transform into their alter ego.  On July 21, at their Main Street Station wedding, Katie and Andrew Fauth gave me and my two assistants Katherine Smothers and Melinda Kemp, the opportunity to try it out for ourselves. The guests weren't the only ones having fun.  Here are some of the results.
