There's something about the rustic, muted colors, the string lights, crumbling plaster walls, palm trees that wets my visual appetite. I wanted to capture the Havana of the 1950s even though I was there to photograph a wedding reception. Kim and Chris felt the same way and allowed me to photograph them wherever and whenever I wanted. They encouraged my photographic creativity and were open to anything I suggested. It was a photographer's paradise!

Kim and Chris, May 5, 2012
I have always loved the Shockoe Bottom area, and especially, Havana 59, otherwise known as "The Paris of the Caribbean" http://havana59.net/. On May 5, I had the pleasure of photographing Kim and Chris' wedding reception there following a ceremony at the Edgar Allen Poe Museum www.poemuseum.org/ also an interesting and unique venue.
